What the Slack® app does

Reports and alerts from your automations

Your Lim AI automations are built in n8n around your business. They read data from BigQuery and your other connected platforms, use OpenAI to turn it into reports, summaries and alerts, and post them to the Slack® channel you choose.

Example: spend alerts and summaries

One automation we build for clients posts an alert, as "Lim AI Alerts", when an ad account's latest day of spend is above its recent average by more than your threshold, and a 7-day summary of cost, ROAS and CPA, as "Lim AI Reports". You can run it from Lim AI and choose whether it repeats daily.

Channel digest

Ask for a digest of a channel's last 24 hours: how many messages and people, questions nobody has replied to yet, and the most replied-to threads. It is built by counting the channel's own messages, without AI, and posted back into the same channel.

No duplicate alerts

Before posting an alert, the app reads the channel's recent messages so the same alert is not posted twice for the same day.

Choose the channel

Pick a public channel, or a private channel the app has been added to. A private channel is only listed for the person who connected the workspace, and only if they are a member of it in Slack®.

Public channel posting

The app can post to a public channel without being invited first. A test message from Lim AI confirms the connection works.

AI disclaimer: outputs may be inaccurate

Lim AI automations use artificial intelligence, including large language models from OpenAI, to generate many of the reports, summaries, insights and alerts they post to Slack®. AI-generated responses, summaries and other outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check them against your source data before you rely on them or act on them, and do not treat them as professional advice.

How it integrates with Slack®

    Sign in to Lim AI

    Click "Add to Slack" above to sign in to Lim AI. Lim AI accounts are set up by our team; if you do not have one yet, email hello@dashboard-lim.com.

    Connect your Slack® workspace

    On the Connectors page in Lim AI, connect Slack®. You will be taken to Slack® once to review the permissions Lim AI needs and approve the install into your workspace.

    Choose your channel

    In Lim AI, choose a channel, send a test message, post a channel digest, and set the spend alert threshold and whether alerts repeat daily. Our team connects your automations to the channels you choose.

    Receive reports and alerts in-channel

    Your team receives the reports, summaries and alerts from your automations in the Slack® channels you chose.

Permissions Lim AI requests

We request the minimum Slack® scopes required to deliver the features above. Each scope and how we use it:

Read the last 24 hours of a public channel you choose, to build the channel digest and to check an alert has not already been posted there.

channels:read

Display a list of available public channels so users can select where they want to receive automated reports and alerts.

chat:write

Send messages such as reports, alerts and channel digests to the Slack® channels you choose.

chat:write.customize

Post messages with a contextual username and icon (e.g. "Lim AI Reports" for the weekly digest, "Lim AI Alerts" for threshold alerts) so workspace members can visually distinguish notification types at a glance.

chat:write.public

Send messages to public channels without requiring the bot to be manually added, improving user experience during initial setup.

groups:history

Read the last 24 hours of a private channel the app has been added to, for the same channel digest and duplicate check.

groups:read

Display private channels that the app has been added to, allowing users to select them for receiving reports and alerts. A private channel is only listed for the person who connected the workspace, and only if they are a member of that channel in Slack®.

Pricing

The Lim AI Slack® app itself is included with every Lim AI subscription. Lim AI is a paid service: a fixed monthly rate is charged for the platform and the Fully Managed Dashboard Service (which includes monthly optimisation). You can uninstall the app at any time from your Slack® workspace settings (Manage apps → Lim AI → Remove app). On uninstall we stop posting to your workspace and delete the associated tokens.
